This past weekend our racing agenda was switched around when PRP Mod Squad Special was cancelled due to heavy rain. We decided to run at 201 Speedway on Sunday the 22nd where they were hosting a special for the late models and a normal weekly show for all other classes, so naturally the grand stands were packed. The night started out great, Dan qualified with the fastest lap time out of all modified drivers and placed him in the 1st heat starting on the pole. Leading every lap, Dan went on to win his heat where he earned himself a pole position start for the feature. The modified's went green and Dan jumped out front coming out of corner 2 and then is when the on going cautions began. Dan lead the field the whole race and captured a feature win at 201 Speedway!!

On September 20th, only 20 miles from where we are living in Kentucky, Team #60 was excited to race at the 1/4 mile track at Wilard Speedway! Starting in the back of Heat 1 in the modified class, Dan raced his way through the pack and on the white flag he found himself nose to nose with the leader. Just inches short of a win Dan ended up 2nd in his heat. We started 3rd (2nd row inside) of the 25 lap feature. After many cautions, the checkered appeared and Dan ended up 2nd in the feature!
Opening night at Atomic Speedway on September 14th was record breaking in crowd attendance. The grand stands were packed with fans and the drivers meeting was full of racers from all over. Our draw number started Dan outside pole of the 3rd heat and he ended up winning. Taking 1st in the heat put us 3rd starting position in the feature (2nd row inside.) The feature began and right off the start Dan got hung up in the cushion and dropped back a few positions. He tried different lines and raced himself back up to 3rd when the checkered flag flew. It was a great night of racing at a new track!
Thank you to all sponsors and fans.
On September 13th, Team #60 made their way to Moler Raceway Park for a UMP Modified Special where there were a handful of competitive modified drivers registered for the night. Dan’s draw pick placed him in Heat 3 starting in the last row but our luck looked up when Dan found a groove and raced his way up to 2nd in the heat. Starting 6th in the 30 lap feature, Rhoades took the lead as soon as the green flag dropped. Dan, battling from 6th, found a line and was able to work himself up to 2nd and soon pass Rhoades for his 2nd consecutive win at Moler Raceway Park!!
On August 31st - Portsmouth Raceway Park was hosting their annual Lucas Oil Late Model Series Pepsi 50 River Days Rumble event where they also included Modifieds. Dan finished 2nd in his heat which put him 6th starting position in the feature. The modified A-main was the last to run and "perhaps the most competitive, at least up front" PRP press release quoted. The modified feature went green and Robinson jumped right out front. Dan, stuck in 6th and soon falling back to 7th was looking for an opportunity to make some passes. The track turned into a one groove, run along the bottom, follow the leader race so making a pass wasn't going to happen unless Dan made some changes. After a few restarts Dan changed his line and ran the cushion while everybody else stuck low on the track. Up to 2nd, Dan managed to get by Robinson coming into corner 1 as the white flag waved. Dan held Robinson off that last lap and came out of corner 4 charging to his 2nd Victory at PRP!!
Thank you to all sponsors and fans.
Dan decided to run at Moler Raceway Park where they were hosting their annual fan appreciation night. During intermission they had the drivers park their cars on the front stretch and opened the gates to anyone wanting to get up close and personal with the drivers and their race cars. We met many new fans who were excited to see Dan racing at MRP. With MN being our home, it was great seeing fans in Ohio routing on Team sixty. The fun didn't end there. Taking a 1st in the heat earlier put Dan in a good position for the feature. Managing to hold the lead through numerous cautions, Dan held off the field for all 20 laps of the UMP Modified feature where he took home his first win at Moler Raceway park!
Thank you to all the fans who came out to Moler Raceway Park to meet Team #60.
On August 23 fans packed the stands at Skyline Speedway for the "$2,000 Sarah Bond Big Three Night." Dan qualified 2nd fastest out of 43 Octane AMRA Modifieds. Winning his heat gave Dan a nice starting position on the outside pole for the 25 lap feature. Going green, RV1X took the lead. However, only a few laps in, Dan and his 355 home built small block Chevy engine found an opportunity and made the pass on the high side. Leading the remainder of the race, Dan took home a feature win!
