With fall upon us and winter fast approaching it is hard to believe summer is over.
This past summer Team 60 experienced some big changes when we decided to shift our race program South East to Kentucky. While running the Southern tracks we managed to race at 11 new tracks including; Eldora Speedway, West Virginia Motor Speedway, Portsmouth Raceway Park, 201 Speedway, Brush Creek Motorsports Complex, Skyline Speedway, Moler Raceway Park, Atomic Speedway, Midway Speedway, Willard Speedway. Grand Rapids Speedway, I-94 Speedway, and Viking Speedway. We raced a total of 23 times in 4 different states, capturing 8 feature wins and nine top 5 finishes. It was great getting to know and work along side Jackie Boggs and the 4B Motorsports crew. The knowledge, people and memories we were part of are priceless. Thank you to all the sponsors who supported Team 60 in our new racing avenues. It was a great building year and look forward to great things to come.
DEL PURO RACING
On Saturday, October 19, Portsmouth Raceway Park was hosting the 3rd and final night of the Dirt Track World Championship. On the schedule was Late Model B-Mains, Modified Feature and the Lucas Oil Late Model feature. The stands were packed, there was not an empty seat in the house. Dan went out for hot laps and came back to make a few changes. About 6 minutes after coming in from hot laps PRP called for the Modified Feature to get on the track. Twenty seven competitive Modified drivers were lined up for the 30 lap Feature and Dan started 5th (third row, inside). Dan had a couple really fast runs after cautions but they never completed a lap, so they had to go back to original starting order. Dan was trying different lines on the race track but one line seemed to be the fastest groove and that was on the bottom. Dan ended up 7th in the Dirt Track World Championship Modified Feature. Our crew worked hard, we were honored to be racing against some of the best Modified drivers in the country and part of a very well known event in dirt racing.
Team #60 was back at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Ohio last night for the 33rd Annual Dirt Track World Championship. Thursday night was a full schedule of Modified racing. 98 Modified drivers from all over were registered and the stands were packed! Dan qualified 3rd fastest in his group which put him in heat 5 starting on the outside pole. Due to light rain all day the track condition was tacky and fast. Green flag dropped for heat 5, Dan and Johnson were side by side coming into and out of corner 2. Dan had a little faster line, he took the lead on lap 1 and for the remainder of the race all the way to the checkers. A top 3 finish in the heat was the goal, it guaranteed you a spot in Saturday nights big show. So, a 1st place finish in the heat was just a bonus. Tonight (Friday) will be a full schedule of qualifying and heats for the Lucas Oil Late Models. Saturday night will consist of Dan's Modified feature and the Lucas Oil Late Model $50,000 to win feature. For immediate updates and results on Saturday check Dan Ebert #60 on Facebook.

On Saturday September 28, Skyline Speedway was hosting their 30th annual Harvest 50. The Harvest 50 is a well known event that draws in top drivers in all classes and wraps up points for the drivers in the AMRA Octane Modified division. About 20 Sprint, 43 Late Model and 50 Modified drivers were registered for the night. Our pill draw put us 18th driver in line to qualifying and Dan ended up 7th fastest. There were five fully packed heats for the Modifieds and we were put in the 2nd heat where we finished 2nd. We transferred right to the feature which gave Dan time to think and make adjustments. "Right now we have a 4th to 7th place car, the set up we have will not win us the race" Dan claimed. Feature time came and Dan started 7th. Right off the start Dan made the right choice and stuck to the bottom line and managed to get by 3 cars. He then decided to run the high line and got by another 2 cars. Caution flag came and Dan and Jeremy Berwanger (Modified fastest qualifier) found themselves battling immediately as the green flag flew. Berwanger was running the bottom and Dan stuck to the top, racing through lap traffic, they switched positions back and forth. White flag came out and it was nose and nose close, both charging out of corner 4, Dan had just a little faster run and came through the checkered of the 30 lap race and captured himself a feature win! Both Dan and Berwanger put on a great show!
Thank you sponsors, crew and fans.
