Thursday was a GREAT night at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex! Dan's second time running a "Hell Tour" race, he caputured his first Summit Summer Modified Nationals win!! Huge accomplishment for the whole #60 team!
Summer Nationals Hell Tour brought us to Atomic Speedway Wednesday for a night of racing amongst top ranked modified drivers. Pill draw put Dan in qualifying group 1, lined up next to big names like Nascar racer Kenny Wallace and late model driver Jackie Boggs. Dan ended up 5th fastest in his group, where he was put in heat #1, starting 5th. The 10 lap heat was a battle, you'd think it was a feature! Dan ended up 3rd in his heat and placed himself 7th starting position in the A- main. 20 lap feature was one to watch.. Devin Gilpin (2x UMP champion) on pole naturally jumped out front right away. Dan was up to 5th about 6 laps in and soon up to 3rd right behind Boggs. Charging hard, Dan was gaining and soon a yellow came out. About 7 laps to go Dan was in 2nd, charging hard and wound up coming through the checkers in 2nd place in Dan's first Summer Nationals modified feature.
The Summit Racing Hell Tour brings in some of the best modified talent around and we were super excited to be racing against them. This would not be possible with out all our sponsors and fans! Thank you.
Let's see what we can do tomorrow in the summer nationals race at Brushcreek Motor Speedway!
It was a packed house at 201 Speedway this past Saturday. The Lucas Oil Late Model, Bomber and Modified classes were racing. The night started off with a draw number that wound Dan up at the tail of Heat #3, starting 7th. Eight lap heat race gave Dan enough time to work his way to the front and earn him self a 3rd place starting position in the 20 lap modified feature. About 3 laps in Dan was out front in the A- main and maintained the lead until the end to swoop up a feature win!
Portsmouth Raceway Park was hosting a big 4th of July show that featured 32 Lucas Oil Late Model and 43 UMP Modified drivers from all across the country. Modified's had hot lap qulaifying where they put about 9 cars on the track at once and your time determined your starting spot in the heat. Dan started 6th in heat #3. After avoiding a big pile up in corner 4, Dan raced his way to the front and earned himself a 3rd place starting position in the feature. A full stacked 20 lap A-Main with some of the strongest competitors in the modified racing industry, Dan fought a hard battle between the top 3 drivers and wound up with a strong 3rd place finish!

Good night at Atomic Speedway. The venue was packed with fans and some of the best drivers around filling the sprint, late model and modified classes. Dan was in the second group to qualifying and after all modifieds completed their time trials, he came out second fastest overall. Starting pole of heat #2, he ran smooth the entire race and wound up winning his heat. After a redraw from the top 6, he was placed on the outside pole of the feature. Green flag flew, Dan jumped out front and led all laps to capture a feature win!!!

Wednesday was a great night at Atomic Speedway for Team #60. With 61 sprint cars signed up and 28 mods, the track decided to not qualify modified's and go straight to heats. Dan started on the pole of heat three and ran a solid 8 laps to win the heat. After a redraw by the top two in each heat, Dan started outside pole of the feature. Right off the start Dan's Impressive race car was out front. After a few cautions, Dan repeatedly had great starts and rocketed himself into a victory!
Thank you to all our sponsors and fans!

This past Saturday team 60 raced at Portsmouth Raceway Park. Dan went out for qualifying hot laps and wound up 2nd fastest overall. After an inverted heat race Dan started 4th. First lap coming into corner 4 the driver behind Dan got into his rear, spun Dan and broke his left rear spring clear off. Both were sent to the tail of the heat race. Dan was confident if he got the car wound up enough he could make it work and that he did. He worked his way from the tail to win his heat. Dan started outside pole of the feature and Robinson on the pole. Robinson was out front right away, Dan in second was charging and trying different lines the entire race. Two laps to go, coming out of corner 2, Robinson slipped up a little which gave Dan the perfect opportunity to make a move and grab the lead. Dan led the last lap and captured a feature win at PRP!!
Exciting night for the whole Team 60!
Can't thank our fans and sponsors enough!

Dan qualified 2nd fastest overall tonight at Portsmouth Raceway Park. Inverted hot laps placed Dan outside of the second row in heat 2 where he made all 8 laps count and raced himself to win his heat. Feature time, Dan started outside row 1. Pole sitter got out front right away and Dan was eagerly trying to gain ground on him. Last lap of the 20 lap feature Dan made the pass in corner 4 and captured the Gator 50 Feature win!!
